Bachelor degrees in Youth Ministry: A program that prepares the ordained clergy and other religious professionals to provide spiritual, counseling, and leadership services to children, adolescents, and young adults. Includes instruction in child and adolescent psychology, human growth and development, family studies, communication skills, religious education, youth counseling, small group leadership, planning and organizing youth activities, volunteer supervision, and youth evangelism and worship.
The Youth Ministries major is designed to prepare students for ministry as a youth pastor and/or for various church ministries that focus on ministering to the spiritual needs of young people. Of the 128 semester hours required for the degree, over half the hours are devoted directly to Christian service studies and skills.
