The audiology program offered through The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions at CMU is a professional graduate curriculum four years in length. Graduates of the program are awarded a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.)degree.
Students participate in clinical experiences during their first two years, and must successfully pass comprehensive examinations at the end of their second year in order to progress to the third year. The third year of study includes classroom work, advanced clinical practicum and work on the doctoral research project. The fourth year of the program is spent in a clinical residency. The Au.D. degree is awarded upon successful completion of coursework, clinical practice, comprehensive examinations, doctoral project defense and the clinical residency requirement.
