In the Emerging Leaders program students choose a cohort based on the focus of study. The students begin as a cohort and stay together for the duration of their program. There are no electives as the curriculum offerings are focused on helping students develop expertise in a specific area of study. The Emerging Leaders program also makes use of distributive learning technologies, which reduces the time required to complete the course work from three years to two years. Another unique aspect of this program is that students are exposed to a professor of record who is a proven scholar/practitioner in the subject being studied and who serves as the cohort’s primary mentor.
Earning a Doctor of Ministry in the Emerging Leaders program requires the completion of 48 quarter credits. All persons in this program will complete six courses focused on the cohort subject matter as determined by the cohort professor(s), as well as the Thesis Proposal Workshop (Research Methodology and Design) and the completion of an acceptable dissertation.
