The Ph.D. program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing advanced studies in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. Graduates from the program have pursued careers in academia, research, and industry. The department provides academic and funding support for its students.
The Ph.D. program in IEOR is highly selective. In a typical year, there were over 300 applications for eight to ten new doctoral students entering the program. Thus, doctoral students are admitted with the expectation that they will be able to successfully complete the program and bring credit to themselves, the discipline, and the department.
