Advances in technology are profoundly changing models of conducting business. Conversely, business-related challenges and opportunities represent some of the major factors shaping the development of technology information management. Throughout the intersecting territories of business and technology lie tremendous opportunities for valuable research. The PhD in Information, Technology Management Program explores this growing body of knowledge. The program, a collaboration of the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences (DEAS) in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and HBS, seeks to develop new methodologies and to generate research that explores in depth the interaction between information, technology management.
The joint program systematically builds on a growing cross-disciplinary tradition. On the DEAS side, work focuses on the disciplines of engineering and technology. On the HBS side, students are involved in special fields such as:
-Accounting and Control
-Competition and Strategy
-Marketing
-Negotiation, Organizations, and Markets
-Organizational Behavior
-Technology and Operations Management
The program nurtures and deepens understanding of problems involving business and technology. These problems are addressed by combining the quantitative and analytic concepts and methodologies of the core disciplines studied in the DEAS, with the expertise and field-based experience nurtured at HBS.
