The main features of the program:
  • 12 hours of MBA course work can be applied to the JD degree
  • 6 hours of JD course work can be applied toward the MBA degree
  • In 1 of the last 4 law semesters, students may meet their residency requirements by taking 10 or more MBA hours or by taking any combination of MBA and JD courses, as long as the student is registered for at least 10 credit hours
  • It is possible to complete both degrees in 3 years, especially if the foundation course work has been completed

    The MBA Program requirements:
  • 24 hours of foundation course work (the typical undergraduate business student will likely have fulfilled most, if not all, of these requirements).
  • 9 core MBA courses, for a total of 24 hours.
  • 3 elective MBA courses, for a total of 9 hours (6 of 9 hours come from JD course work)

    The JD Program requirements:
  • 34 hours of first-year required courses
  • 23 hours of upperclass required courses
  • 37 hours of electives (12 hours may come from MBA course work)
  • 5 semesters carrying at least 10 hours of JD course work
  • 1 semester carrying at least 10 hours of course work in the MBA program or a combination of MBA and JD courses
