The Ph.D. in Statistics with an Emphasis on a Substantive Field.
Motivated by the exciting interdisciplinary research currently taking place at Carnegie Mellon, we are in the process of developing a number of new Programs. In principle, each of these programs is fashioned after the Joint Ph.D. Program in Statistics and Public Policy. A student with a strong interest in a particular substantive area may, with faculty approval, substitute several upper-division courses in that field for the second semester Ph.D. courses in Advanced Statistics and Advanced Probability
