A minimum of seventy-two semester hours is required for the Ph.D. degree in Mathematics. These seventy-two hours must include at least forty-eight hours of approved graduate level courses and at least twelve hours of dissertation credit (MTH 6V99). Other requirements include a qualifying examination, a preliminary examination, and a defense of the dissertation.
No foreign language is required for the Ph.D. degree.
