Doctor's degrees in Endodontics + Endodontology (Cert, MS, PhD): A program that focuses on the advanced study of the morphology, physiology, and pathology of human dental pulp and periradicular tissues, and prepares dentists to diagnose and treat internal diseases and injuries of teeth. Includes instruction in theory and practice of endodontics; pulpal disease; relationship of endodontic conditions to other dental/oral health issues; endodontic operative technique; and patient care and management.
The DScD in Endodontics is a four-year program in which a Doctor of Science in Dentistry degree is combined with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in endodontics. The course of study is developed by the chair of the Department of Endodontics and the student's research mentor. Completion of the DScD is required for granting of the CAGS.
