Emerson owns and operates Boston's Cutler Majestic Theatre, and in April 2005, acquired the Paramount Theatre (Boston). Emerson claims to be "the only comprehensive college or university in America dedicated exclusively to communication and the arts in a liberal arts context." It offers over 37 degree programs in the Arts and Communication, the college is accredited by the New England Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
