Funeral Service Education - NC Funeral Director is a diploma program offered at CVCC by FTCC. General education courses are offered by CVCC. Funeral Service Education courses are provided by FTCC via live interactive video feed to an N.C. Information Highway classroom on CVCC's campus.
The Funeral Service Education curriculum provides students with the opportunity to acquire the funeral service education necessary to become proficient in basic funeral directing skills.
Students completing the diploma are eligible to sit for the N.C. Board of Funeral Service Funeral Director state exam.
This academic program is designed to meet specific state or professional needs. It is not accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service ducation owing to the fact that it does not include instruction in the following areas: anatomy, chemistry, embalming, microbiology and restorative arts. Students graduating from this program are not eligible to take the National Board Examination or any state examination for which graduation from an ABFSE accredited program is required.
