Harvard Law School provides unmatched opportunities to study law and related disciplines in a rigorous, collaborative environment. Harvard’s remarkable scope generates enormous vitality - an unparalleled breadth and depth of courses and clinics, a wide array of research programs, a diverse student body drawn from across the nation and around the world, and an extensive network of distinguished alumni. Harvard University’s extraordinary resources are available to law students through joint degree programs, cross-registration, and a variety of social and cultural venues.

Within this dynamic, larger environment, educational settings are scaled to enrich individual learning and interaction. First-year sections have fewer than eighty students, and today’s overall students to faculty ratio is 11.4 to 1. This year, HLS offers 114 upper-level classes with enrollments of 25 or fewer students, and opportunities to work directly with faculty members abound. Unparalleled educational resources combined with meaningful intellectual engagement with faculty, classmates, and the world create an exceptional environment in which to prepare for leadership in public service, private practice, the judiciary, academia, business, and government.
