CUNY John Jay College Criminal Justice Certificates/Less-than-1-year Certificate Addiction Studies

The Addiction Studies Certificate Program, offered by John Jay College, is designed to enable current and prospective counselors, personnel directors, program administrators, criminal justice professionals, health care professionals, and students to complete the educational requirement for the Credential in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (CASAC). Each three-credit course counts for 45 contact hours, which may be applied to the total 350 contact hours required by New York State. The courses may also assist already credentialed counselors in obtaining required re-credentialing hours.
For each addiction studies course you receive both academic credit and specialized training, which counts for educational requirements of the CASAC. Upon completion of the education requirements at John Jay College, you are eligible for a CASAC Trainee certificate issued by New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASA).
