-Degree Requirements-
Students enrolled in the Automotive Technology program will learn the basic fundamentals of automobiles and how to deal with the problems associated with the high-tech automotive industry. The student can also gain the skills and knowledge they will need to establish a successful career in the automotive world as a PA state licensed safety inspector and/or a NATEF/ASE certified technician.

Skills
Troubleshooting and repair of the automotive computer and related systems, tire maintenance and repair, steering and suspension systems, computerized 4-wheel alignment, computerized repair manuals and service writer skills, proper use of the in-house engine dynamometer. Scan tool diagnostics to include: ABS braking systems and trac tion control, Engine performance, Electronic systems, Strategy based diagnostics, Air bag/Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Systems and Electronic Stability Control. Students are offered 12 NATEF/ASE certification areas for specialized technicians.
