The Coding Certificate Program offered by the Health Information Management Program, provides students with skills necessary for coding in the prospective payment environment. This program is ideal for Coders, Utilization Review Coordinators, Quality Assurance Coordinators, Claims Reviewers, Health Information personnel and Physician's Office personnel. Ambulatory care and nursing home health personnel desiring to learn ICD-9-CM coding system would also benefit from this program. A separate CPT-4 coding (Current Procedural Terminology) course has been added to the curriculum to cover federal regulations for coding outpatient claims.
