The ten-credit-hour course of study consists of 210 (minimum) clock hours of classroom and clinical time. The curriculum includes patient assessment, intravenous and fluid therapy, respiratory emergencies with special emphasis on advanced airway management, drug therapy and management of the traumatized patient. This program is based on the New Mexico EMS Minimal Curriculum Standard. Upon successful completion of the program the graduate is eligible to take the New Mexico Injury Prevention/EMS Bureau Licensing Exam.
