This program covers the U.S. Department of Transportation 1985 Emergency Medical Technician—Intermediate Curriculum. The EMT-I Program is designed to provide additional training and increased knowledge and skills in specific aspects of advanced life support above the basic level. Successful completion of the program allows the graduate to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician EMT-I certification examination and receive Georgia certification. High school graduation or GED is required for admission to this program.

The Emergency Medical Technology program is intended to produce graduates who are prepared and eligible to take the National Registry EMT–Intermediate certification examination. Graduates will be competent in the basic and intermediate skills necessary to assess and treat both prehospital medical and traumatic emergencies. Varied clinical and lab experiences are planned to integrate theory and practice.
