The DCCC Floral Design Program is based upon completion of competencies (tasks). The student starts with the basics and builds on a solid foundation. Areas of instruction include fresh, dried, and silk floral arranging for all occasions; business and personal finance management; and many aspects of horticulture.
Floral designers work with dried, silk and fresh flowers, plants, containers and other materials to make floral arrangements. They use their knowledge of design principles and the elements of color harmony and composition to create bouquets, sprays, wreaths and corsages.
Graduates of DCCC’s Floral Design program can pursue careers at floral shops, greenhouses and nurseries. Jobs are available in small and large towns, hotels or on cruise ships-virtually anywhere floral items are needed.
