The Medical Assistant Certificate Program prepares the student to assist the physician in performing selected diagnostic tests as well as business office procedures.
After acceptance into the “college,” the student must complete an additional application and be accepted into this “program.” Certain prerequisites must be completed prior to a student being admitted to this program or taking any of the MED courses.
The Aiken Technical College Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board (CRB) of the American Association of Medical Assistants’ Endowment (AAMAE).
Students will be required to participate in off-campus training in working clinical facilities therefore students will need reliable transportation, since assigned clinical sites are off campus.
