Certificates/Less-than-1-year Certificates in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology + Technician: A program that prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of electrical, electronics and communication engineers. Includes instruction in electrical circuitry, prototype development and testing; systems analysis and testing, systems maintenance, instrument calibration, and report preparation.
Instruction in electrical theory, terminology, use of test instruments; basic electrical code, wiring techniques; lighting circuits, plugs, three-way switches, fuse boxes and electrical panels, blueprint reading; and electrical safety.
Layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic equipment. Instruction includes basic electronic theory; principles of electrical circuits; electrical testing procedures; and electronics related mathematics.
