The Cosmetology program is a minimum of 1500 hours and is a three-semester curriculum leading to a vocational certificate cosmetology. In addition to the general admission requirements, successful applicants to the cosmetology program will submit TABE scores of 579 in math, 572 in language, and 582 in reading. Students are admitted to the program based on date of application, after admission requirements are met.
This program prepares individuals to care for hair, nails, and skin with emphasis on hygiene, sanitation, customer relations, and salon management. Satisfactory completion of the course of study qualifies students for the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology certification examination.
