Certificates/Less-than-2-year Certificates in Child Development: A program that focuses on the intellectual, social, emotional, and biological development of children and the planning and design of related human services. Includes instruction in parent-child relations; parenting practices; special needs of children; parental and environmental influences on child development; external support services; and related public policy issues.
Child Development Specialist is a two year, half-day academic/clinical program for adults and secondary students. The students enrolled in this program will learn entry level occupational child care skills. Students take part in clinical experiences by assisting cooperative teachers in local day care sites and Head Start Programs. Students assist the teachers with daily routines and supervision.
