The master of accountancy program offers a general background in accounting, with an emphasis on business-related subjects and an in-depth study of one or more areas of accounting. The MAcc degree is awarded on completion of a professional program, which can begin as early as the junior year of the undergraduate program, and culminates in the Marriott School after the fifth year. Students entering the SOA program with a baccalaureate degree accounting can complete the program in less than two years.
The Professional Accountancy emphasis is designed for students who wish to gain a broad base of graduate accounting training. Students typically seek accounting positions in auditing, management, not-for-profit, or PhD programs.
