-Degree Requirements-
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Administration and Supervision degree is designed for educational leaders who wish to specialize in educational administration and supervision and who seek exemplary skills and analytical capabilities related to administration and leadership. This program provides practical applications in educational administration and supervision that will help participants acquire the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that can lead to state certification or endorsement. The program is designed to prepare qualified persons for a variety of leadership roles to include: (1) principal/assistant principal and other school-site administrative and supervisory positions in the public schools; (2) federal and state governmental positions in educational administration and supervision; (3) other areas of educational administration. Completion of the degree leads to eligibility for certification in the state of West Virginia. The M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision program is guided by the Praxis II, ELCC, ISTE, and WVDE standards. It comprises 11 formal online courses at 3 credit hours each, plus an internship worth 3 hours, for a total of 36 credit hours. Direct school observational opportunities and experiences are also included in the curriculum.
