Students pursuing the Professional Science Master’s Degree will gain core
competencies in statistics and research methods, as well as applied computing
topics such as simulation and modeling and geographic information systems. Students
in the program will study algorithms and data structures, computer networks and
database management systems, plus cutting-edge issues in computing, such as data
visualization, artificial neural networks, and network security.
Students will also choose among electives depending on their interests and
career goals. Electives should mostly be from the field of science, but with
advice from an advisor, students may register for non-science courses.
Classes are delivered in the evenings to accommodate PSM students who work
full time.
