-Degree Requirements-
The engineering physics track concentrates on AF requirements and problems in the areas of optics, lasers, solid state physics and plasmas. Emphasis is placed on the characterization, design and use of a variety of lasers and optical systems employed as directed energy weapons, pointing, tracking and imaging devices, and in surveillance and countermeasure applications. Input AFSCs are: 61S3D, 62S3, 15W3A. Applicable academic specialty codes include: Optics/Lasers/Sensors (8HMY), Plasma Physics (8HNY), Solid State (8HOY), Electromagnetics (8HEY), Atomic and Molecular (8HCY) as well as General Physics (8HYY).
