Initial Teacher Licensure Preparation

This program prepares students for Initial Teacher Licensure in Visual Art. Prior to student teaching, students will take courses that prepare and lead to teacher licensure. Before student teaching, students must pass the Communication and Literacy portion of the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL), and complete an 80-hour pre-practicum field experience depending on the level of licensure. Students are placed in one teaching practicum (300 hours) or may also be placed at both the elementary
and secondary level (150 hours at each level).
