Boise State University Masters degree Ceramics

The ceramics area welcomes applications that reflect a strong undergraduate level of orientation, knowledge and ability within recognized historical and contemporary practices in the medium. As students progress through the program, their research needs to address the larger framework of art history and professionalism to develop a competitive portfolio of work, and the ability to articulate it’s meaning. Students will receive input from a diverse range of art department faculty throughout their studies and need to be prepared to consider various readings of their work and respond through research and development. The ceramics area is open to interdisciplinary problem solving techniques in order to cultivate an experimental and expansive relationship to the broader spectrum of art and the visual perspective. We also provide the unique disciplinary perspectives of two full time ceramics professors, and our visiting artist program brings ceramic artists to the campus each semester, many of whom are nationally and internationally recognized.
