The Master of Engineering degree enables new as well as practicing engineers to earn a professional degree chemical engineering while building expertise in related fields such as:
  • Biotechnology
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical Reaction Engineering
  • Engineering Management
  • Electronic Materials/Electronic Packaging
  • Environmental Quality
  • Energy (*NEW)
  • Food Science
  • Materials Science
  • Semiconductor Device Microfabrication

The Master of Engineering program is intended to enhance the technical skills of the students enrolled by focusing its curriculum on practice and design. Built around a core of five chemical engineering courses, the program requires thirty hours of course work, and one design project. Students with an undergraduate education in chemical engineering typically finish the program in two semesters. Those who do not have a background in chemical engineering will require two years.

Commonly, students from three areas enter the Master of Engineering program: chemical engineers who want to increase their chemical engineering knowledge and develop a specialized knowledge of fields such as microelectronics, engineering management, food science, or energy; practicing engineers who wish to gain a knowledge of the latest developments in their field; and graduates with B.S. degrees in other scientific areas who want a career in chemical engineering.
