Providing a community building model organized around a set of integrative experiences for student cohorts, the program builds on graduate courses in tourism, parks and recreation, and nonprofit management along with faculty mentoring and community involvement.

We prepare scholars, teachers, and professionals who study community development, policy, planning, and human service delivery models specializing in one of the following tracks:

* Community Studies

Our program spans traditional boundaries, building on the concept of fostering healthy and sustainable communities as the unifying principle. Integrating scholarship provides a more meaningful understanding of, and impact on, community life and dynamics. Applied research opportunities focus on sustainable communities, organizational capacity building and enhancing community quality of life across the life span.

The program prepares graduates for careers in higher education, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private sector businesses. The fields subsumed within Community Resources and Development are extremely diverse and involve the private, government and non-profit sectors of the economy.
