Designed to prepare students as counselors to help children, adolescents and adults help themselves in adapting cognitively, emotionally and behaviorally to various interrelated environments.
Curriculum content is based on the National Board for certified Counselors requirements for professional counseling and the State of Hawaii Licensure Standards for the Mental Health Counselor.
Students will be placed in appropriate sites under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the required practicum and internships.
The Community Counseling emphasis can be individualized by the selection of elective courses suited to individual needs and career goals.
