The Elementary Curriculum Instruction program is designed to help career classroom teachers upgrade their skills, become informed about new ideas in elementary teaching, and prepare for curriculum and instructional leadership in one or more of the following areas: elementary classroom teaching, technology in education, meeting the needs of diverse learners, early childhood education, and staff development in public and private schools. Students may follow the study plan outlined below for the concentration in Elementary Curriculum Instruction or they may elect to specialize in one of five emphasis areas: Diversity, Early Childhood Education, Professional Inquiry and Practice, Staff Development, and Technology in Education.
