The Master of Education program provides an advanced knowledge base for licensed elementary teachers who are interested in continuing their professional development, becoming curriculum leaders or enhancing their professional status.
This program features nine hours of core courses followed by 15 hours of required emphasis courses and 12 hours of electives to include at least three hours in reading. Students may select the thesis, graduate project or nonthesis option. All options include a writing proficiency and written comprehensive exams. The thesis option requires a comprehensive oral defense of the thesis or graduate project.
All professors hold terminal degrees in special education or a related field and bring a wealth of public school experience that blends theory and practice in providing positive student learning opportunities.
