Students pursuing a Masters degree choose either the Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering track upon applying to the program. Both tracks require a minimum of 32 credit hours to complete the degree and are similarly structured. They require 8 credits of Concentration electives, 4 credits of Breadth elective, 4 credits of Math elective, 8 credits of general electives, and 8 credits of advanced coursework. Students have a choice in the advanced coursework, they can either choose to do research with a supported faculty member and write a thesis, or they can choose to take two upper-level graduate courses. All coursework and research must have the consent of their advisor. Concentrations are as follows: Fluid Mechanics & Acoustics or Solid Mechanics, Dynamics, & Control.
