The English as a New Language Professional Development Academy will focus on two primary objectives:
1. ENL Licensure for Indiana teachers
* Courses offered at Masters Level – can be used towards M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction.
* Courses offered at Undergraduate Level for teacher candidates wishing to add ENL certification.
* Certification opportunity for licensed Indiana teachers who wish to add ENL.
2. Professional Development for teachers in schools.
* Professional Development for those working with English language learners (content/classroom teachers, ENL teachers, paraprofessionals, volunteers, service organizations).
The English as a New Language Professional Development Academy has been established with a National Professional Development Grant through the United States Department of Education, administered by the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA).
