To be qualified for admission to graduate study the student must have completed a bachelor's degree geology or related discipline with an overall grade-point average of 2.7 and 3.0 in the major. The GRE test is required. Requirements for the master's degree are 30 semester hours of graduate courses including 6 semester hours of thesis. A minimum of 12 semester hours (excluding thesis hours) must be 5000-level courses.
