    Program Objectives
  • Students of our Industrial/Organizational Psychology program will gain a foundation in I/O theory and research, allowing them to take the lead in personnel selection, organizational assessment, development, and interventions.
  • Students will gain experience in research and statistical methods, enabling them to approach problems critically in an applied setting and draw upon research methodologies in designing interventions.
  • Students will gain the ability to develop and implement surveys, selection systems, performance management systems.
  • Students will learn the personal and interpersonal skills necessary for the business environment, such as effective communication, conflict negotiation, training and development, strategies, networking skills, business savvy, and cross-cultural awareness.

    Program Requirements/Expectations
    The Industrial/Organizational Psychology M.A. is a full-time or part-time program requiring 46 credit hours, including six electives. Intensive course work balances theory, practice, and two supervised internships. It is a two-year full-time or three-year part-time program that must be completed within five years. Students must be enrolled for a minimum of nine semester hours during fall and spring semesters to be classified as full time.
