The master’s degree journalism requires a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours (in addition to any undergraduate course work that may be required of students who don’t already have an undergraduate degree journalism). Required course work covers such topics as writing, literary journalism, investigative reporting, research methods, and communication theories, plus a variety of electives. Students also must complete 3 to 6 credit hours of graduate research or thesis work and may participate in a practicum or internship for further hands-on experience.
