Earn your master's degree in just over two years by completing course work during July sessions for three summers and graduating at the end of the third July. During the two academic years, you will work in your own classroom at your current school site with a Bank Street College faculty advisor working with you on your professional growth and development. Through collaboration with your Bank Street advisor and with other graduate students, you will develop your skills as a teacher and as an educational leader, modeling creative ways to engage children fully in mathematical reasoning.
You will develop skills to help you and fellow teachers collaborate on curriculum planning, instructional approaches, and new assessment strategies in mathematics. You will become a resource for other staff members within your school who are interested in increasing their skills in mathematics instruction.
Your courses will be in three areas of study:
* Mathematics curriculum development
* Staff development, the school change process, and leadership
* Integrated mathematics courses
