This program is designed to fit the needs of students in the area--applied mathematics.
To be accepted into this program, a student must have an undergraduate major in mathematics, or course work equivalent to a Central Missouri major in mathematics, with a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 in upper level mathematics courses. A student not meeting these minimum standards may consult the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science for possible acceptance on a conditional basis.
A student must pass a departmental comprehensive examination and write and defend a thesis before completion of the program.
This is designed to strengthen the computer science and/or mathematics background of students who plan to work in industry; teach in technical colleges or schools that do not require state certification; or continue the study of applied mathematics.
