School Location
The Metals/Jewelry department offers a 60 credit hour MFA degree and a 30 credit hour MA degree. Admission into the MFA program guarantees a graduate assistantship. Students are given private or semi private workspaces and twenty-four hour access to the facilities. The metals studio is well equipped for nearly all metalsmithing techniques, from fine jewelry making to large sculptural work.

The main goal of the graduate metals program is to cultivate an atmosphere where students are challenged to pursue their personal direction while achieving technical mastery and an understanding of the critical issues facing our field today. Faculty members, Sue Amendolara and Cappy Counard, work closely with students to encourage and assist their artistic development through regular meetings, demonstrations and critiques. The curriculum fosters self-reliance within a supportive community.
