Fairfield University's Master of Science in Nursing, Healthcare Management Track prepares nurses at the graduate level who are interested in leadership development outside the advanced practice nurse practitioner role. This track prepares you, as a professional nurse, to assume leadership and management roles in diverse health care delivery settings. Leadership and management skills acquired during the program will assist you in developing and implementing strategies to improve quality outcomes in healthcare.
The Healthcare Management Track program of study is conducted in collaboration with the Charles F. Dolan School of Business. The program meets the academic requirement for ANCC certification in nursing administration, advanced. However, students completing the program must contact ANCC regarding work experience requirements prior to applying for certification.
As a graduate of this program, you'll have gained a depth of knowledge in a wide range of management, leadership, and quality issues affecting healthcare systems. During the program, you'll gain experience, through practica, working in administration management in a variety of healthcare organizational settings. Your experiences will be designed to serve your needs, based on your short and long-term professional goals.
Your professional development as a masters prepared nurse is a collaborative effort. The availability and expertise of course faculty and your graduate faculty advisor serve as a resource in your development as a nursing leader.
