The M.Ag. (non-thesis) in Plant Pathology provide training in the recognition and management of diseases of plants, and on pathogen biology, as preparation for a career in plant-related industries or advanced studies. Candidates for these programs should have an undergraduate background in botany, microbiology, horticulture, agronomy, or a related discipline, and acceptable undergraduate grades and scores on the Graduate Record Examination. Coursework includes a minimum of 30 semester hours beyond the bachelor's degree, at least 21 semester hours of which must be taken in plant pathology, the remaining 9 hours in related areas as determined by the student's Advisory Committee. For the M.S. degree, research skills are developed through thesis research under the direction and approval of a departmental advisory committee.
