The Master of Science degree program in Recreation and Tourism Studies is offered jointly by the School of Community Resources and Development at ASU's Downtown Phoenix campus and the Department of Recreation and Tourism Management at ASU's West campus. The degree prepares students to analyze and understand critical topics and issues pertinent to the fields of recreation, leisure and tourism. The goal of the Master's degree is to provide an academic environment that fosters scholarship, critical thinking, and creativity while preparing graduates for leadership/management positions in research and professional recreation and tourism related public, non-profit, and private agencies. Students select one of the two emphasis areas of recreation or tourism.
