The M.A. program prepares students for professional careers as speech-language pathologists. Graduates of the M.A. program meet the academic and clinical standards established by ASHA for the Certificate of Clinical Competence and the New York State Department of Education for the New York State License in Speech-Language Pathology. Our graduates pursue professional careers in a wide range of clinical and educational settings in which they provide services to individuals across the lifespan who presentwith a wide variety of speech, language and hearing disorders.
The Department seeks to instill in its students, the ability to think analytically, the understanding and use of emerging technology as it relates to the professions of speech-language pathology, and the importance of lifelong learning. We provide academic opportunities to non-traditional and minority students and offer diagnostic and therapeutic services to children and adults residing in the Bronx.
