This degree prepare students for certification and teaching English in elementary
or secondary schools. Prerequisite: At least 10 semester credits (15 quarter credits)
in English courses, exclusive of the General Education composition requirement.
In consultation with the department chair, certain of the courses listed below
may be applied toward such a program.
An alternative Master of Arts in Teaching program is designed for those preparing
to teach English to speakers of other languages; it requires a minimum of 15
English semester credits including:
