Masters degrees in Conducting: A program that prepares individuals to master the art of leading bands, choirs, orchestras and other ensembles in performance, and related music leadership. Includes instruction in score analysis and arranging, rehearsal and performance leadership, music coaching, arrangement and performance planning, ensemble operations management, and applications to specific school or professional ensembles.
Upon the completion of this program students will:
1. Plan and direct a broad variety of service opportunities in the church and the community.
2. Become better performers in a solo, choral, or instrumental capacity.
3. Have new insights, perspectives, and practices in musical performances.
4. Demonstrate the ability to effectively make and arrange music in diverse musical styles.
Each candidate must submit a preliminary video by December 15, before an audition can be scheduled. In addition to the video, applicants should include a resume, repertoire list, and a list of references.
For the Conducting-Orchestral Emphasis

The Music - Conducting Choral degree requires the completion of 30 semester hours, including a full recital (60 minutes of music) or two half-recitals (30 minutes of music on each). A recording of the final recital, or two half-recitals, must be placed in the university library before the degree will be conferred.
A final comprehensive oral examination covering the entire program of study is required.
