Masters degrees in Speech and Rhetorical Studies: A program that focuses on human interpersonal communication from the scientific/behavioral and humanistic perspectives. Includes instruction in the theory and physiology of speech, the history of discourse, the structure and analysis of argument and types of public speech, the social role of speech, oral interpretation of literature, interpersonal interactions, and the relation of speech to nonverbal and other forms of message exchanges.

Program Mission and Philosophy
Within the conceptual framework of the College of Education and the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, the Reading Story and Story Arts (Storytelling) program reflect the importance of the process and products of education and the need for graduates to be flexible thinkers as they deal with an increasingly diverse and changing society. Both programs exhibit collaboration with schools and other agencies.
