Masters degrees in Youth Services + Administration: A program that prepares individuals to plan, manage, and implement social services for children, youth, and families. Includes instruction in child development and psychology, adolescence, family studies, social work, social services administration, juvenile and family law, program and facilities planning, youth leadership, counseling, probation, casework, applicable procedures, and regulations, and professional standards and ethics.
The Children, Youth, and Families Concentration prepares students for professional practice with children, adolescents, and families seen across multiple settings. Training within the concentration builds upon the skills-based clinical and macro methods courses that provide the basis of interviewing, diagnostic, and treatment skills for clinical students, and assessment, administration, and community practice skills for macro students.
The MSW Program is based on both class study and field education. Students develop competence in social work practice, policy, ethical and research dimensions. The School provides the kind of educational environment which stimulates students to take imaginative and innovative actions to bring greater equality for the poor, the sick, the oppressed, and vulnerable groups such as children and youth, the elderly, minorities and women.
