With our active, hands-on approach, you'll be creating the future and impacting people's lives.
You will learn about general topics such as digital and analog circuits, programming, microcontrollers, wireless communications and motors as well as special topics such as fuzzy logic, robotics and optical communications.
Design and laboratory projects grow in complexity throughout the four-year program. Sophomores might be asked to design the logic circuit for a vending machine or an intelligent traffic intersection. Senior students work in teams of three or four on a major project for the entire academic year.
Many of the projects use wireless communication and microprocessors. The projects are usually defined by the students, sometimes with the help of faculty and/or local industry. | |

MSOE's program is designed to accommodate transfer students, especially those with associate degrees in mechanical design and related fields. The program is offered in the evenings only, and is designed for working, part-time students.
Typically, students will enroll for two classes per quarter. The classes shown in the curriculum track are paired so that the required courses can be taken on the same nights of the week.
The curriculum introduces technical courses at an early stage. Mathematics and science courses are integrated into the curriculum as they are applied in the technical courses. General studies courses are spread throughout the curriculum. With this arrangement of courses, part-time students experience a continuous blend of technical and support classes throughout the program. Two technical electives and one free elective allow students to focus on an area of interest; however, the program is designed to produce well-rounded graduates who are competent in all areas of mechanical engineering technology. | |

CompTIA A+ Certification is the world's only internationally recognized standard for PC Support and service skills. It was developed in the U.S. by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), which currently is the world's third largest certification program.
The CompTIA A+ exams cover a broad range of hardware and software technologies, but are not related to any vendor-specific products. To become certified, a student must pass two exams-the core exam and one specialty exam (either MS Windows/DOS or Macintosh). The MSOE Fluid Power Research Institute, a research and product evaluation facility, is housed on campus.
